CHICAGO (STMW) — A man was fatally shot in the Logan Square neighborhood Monday evening, police said.

Alexander Rodriguez, 22, of the 2200 block of North Reta Avenue, suffered gunshot wounds to the chest, abdomen and leg around 7:40 p.m. in the 2300 block of North Ridgeway Avenue, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Rodriguez was then taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 8:32 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

An autopsy conducted Tuesday found Rodriguez died of multiple gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.

No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate.
