SKOKIE, Ill. (STMW) – An elderly man died Friday night after being hit by an SUV in north suburban Skokie.

Bond Yang, 89, was struck by the vehicle in the 8800 block of North Leclaire Avenue in Skokie, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Yang was pronounced dead at Evanston Hospital at 10:15 p.m., the medical examiner’s office said. His home address was not immediately available.

An autopsy conducted Saturday determined Yang died from blunt head trauma as a result of being hit by the SUV and ruled his death an accident, the medical examiner’s office said.

Skokie police could not immediately provide further details about the incident Saturday afternoon.
