CHICAGO (CBS) — About 450 Chicago boys and girls took to the basketball court to learn a little more about the game Saturday.
“We’re going to teach them the basics of basketball, teach them about being a good sport, give them some fundamental training, teach them about their diet,” said event organizer Glen Harston.
Event Organizer Glen Harston says it’s a good way to give young people something to do during the holiday break.
“We want to make sure kids are engaged and busy during this break so they don’t get into trouble on the streets of Chicago.”
Kids from ages 9 to 18 took part.
The clinic was held at Quest Athletics on the city’s West Side. A similar free basketball clinic will be held in the next few months.
