CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man is in custody for allegedly shooting and killing his son early Tuesday in the Armour Square neighborhood on the South Side.

Around 12:30 a.m., the man, 67, shot his 25-year-old son in the chest while the two argued inside a home in the 3700 block of South Wells Street, police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.

August Galladay, who lives in same block where the incident happened, was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:19 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Police are questioning the father as Area Central detectives conduct a homicide investigation.
