South Side Man Charged With Shooting Death Of Son

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man has been charged with fatally shooting his son early Tuesday in the Armour Square neighborhood on the South Side.

Donald Golladay, 67, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter of a family member in the shooting death of his 25-year-old son August Golladay, authorities said.

Police said around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday the elder Golladay shot his son in the chest while the two argued inside a home in the 3700 block of South Wells Street. Both men lived on the block where the shooting occurred, authorities said.

August Galladay was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:19 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Galladay was ordered held on $250,000 bond Wednesday at a hearing.
