CHICAGO (STMW) – Two men have been charged with tying up and stabbing two people during a robbery Monday morning on the Northwest Side.

David Cross, 36, and Jeffery Cross, 35, are charged with two counts each of attempted murder, armed robbery with a dangerous weapon, aggravated battery, and aggravated unlawful restraint, all felonies, according to Chicago Police.

The men allegedly tied up and stabbed a 17-year-old girl and 20-year-old man during a robbery in an apartment in the 3700 block of North Cicero Avenue about 5:50 a.m., police said.

The victims were able to escape and run to a McDonald’s at West Addison Street and North Cicero Avenue, where they called police, police said.

Police said the girl suffered cuts to her face and other areas of her head, while the man was cut on his hands and neck. Both were taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where their conditions had stabilized Tuesday morning.

Both men were arrested on the scene, police said.

David Cross lives in the block where the stabbing occurred, police said. Jeffery Cross lives in the 7800 block of West Carlisle Drive in Hanover Park. Police could not immediately say whether the two are related.

One of the men arrested also suffered injuries and was taken to Presence Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center, authorities said.

Both are scheduled to appear in bond court Tuesday.
