Super Bowl XLVIII Was Most Viewed TV Show In U.S. History

(CBS) More people watched Super Bowl XLVIII than any other show in television history, according to reports.

The final ratings are in, and an average of 111.5 million viewers tuned in to see Seattle demolish Denver, 43-8. Despite the blowout, it was enough to outpace the 2012 contest between the Patriots and Giants, a game that averaged 111.3 million viewers, according to Hollywood Reporter.
