CHICAGO (CBS) -- A 17-year old boy was shot and killed and three other teens were wounded on Wednesday afternoon in a McDonald's parking lot in Rogers Park.

The shooting happened in the 6700 block of North Clark Street, near the corner of Pratt Avenue.

According to police, the victims were approached by a masked gunman who shot them and fled the scene on foot. Witnesses said he didn't run from the scene, but left rather calmly as the victims lay on the ground.

Police said a 17-year-old high school junior died in the bloody attack. He was shot in the head. The Cook County Medical Examiner's office later identified him as Markeyo Carr, of the 6500 block of North Ashland Avenue.

Three other teens were wounded in the shooting. A 14-year-old girl was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, and was in critical condition. Two 18-year-old males also were injured.

The distraught mother of the boy who was killed came to the scene. So did the young man's sister.

The owner of a nearby tattoo parlor heard the shots.

"We went to see what was happening over there and someone was laying down on the driveway," said Govinda Das.

There was apparently an argument between the victims and other teens that led to the carnage.

"This is just crazy that they could walk right up on a child and shoot him down. He had just got two dollars out of his mother's purse to come to McDonald's," said Faye McCoy, a family friend.

Chicago Police are still looking for the killer or killers in the attack.
