(CBS) — With yet another snow coming down in this endless winter, residents of one suburb are saying a very public “thank you,” to the crews who clear their streets, reports WBBM’s Regine Schlesinger.

Yard signs are up at hundreds of Skokie homes, proclaiming the public works crews as “snow heroes” for going above and beyond in this never-ending winter. Michael Lorge whose Skokie Caucus Party, organized the campaign, says the village is the only Chicago suburb that plows not only its streets but also every sidewalk.

Lorge says the party made up 500 signs last week. Most were snapped up immediately by residents eager to show their gratitude.
