(CBS) — The Bears added another defensive back to their roster Tuesday, signing former Texas Southern cornerback Derricus Purdy.
Listed at 6-foot, 190 pounds, the cornerback had one interception, four pass breakups and 34 tackles as a senior at Texas Southern in 2012. Purdy went undrafted in 2013 and didn’t play in the NFL.
He joins C.J. Wilson and Demontre Hurst as former undrafted cornerbacks currently signed with the Bears. Hurst spent the 2013 season on the Bears’ practice squad, while Wilson spent time on both the practice squad and active roster.
Tim Jennings is the only other Bears cornerback currently under contract for the 2014 season.
