CHICAGO (CBS) — A Chicago man has blanketed the area around the Montrose Brown Line stop with signs about a lost set of keys he found – because karma counts in life, reports WBBM’s Steve Miller.

“I stuck the fliers on the tree and I put one in the tree and the CTA guys actually let me stick one up inside the CTA, which is rare.”

Bob Campbell, who works at Polar Hardware in the 1800 block of West Montrose, says the eight keys were found on the snow-cleared sidewalk out front.

“I actually hid their keys in the snow and only the person who identifies the keys would be told the secret location of the keys, just in case they needed them and I didn’t have to go all the way back to the Brown Line from my house.”

Campbell says if everyone does nice things, sooner or later it comes back to you.

“People that go out of their way to help people – that’s what keeps this city a nice city to be in.”

Campbell says the owner of the keys hasn’t called – but he’s still hoping.
