(CBS) Hockey is a birthright of the Canadians, so when they win a big match, they’re going to celebrate like so.

In the aftermath of the Canadian women’s hockey team’s come-from-behind 3-2 overtime win against Team USA in the gold-medal match Thursday at the Sochi Olympics, there were endless videos popping up on the Internet and social media showing celebrations.

One of the best involves the reaction of Rob Ford, the eccentric, opinionated Toronto mayor who’s made the news for a variety of reasons that endear him to the social media crowd and blogosphere. Here’s a slow-motion video of his excitement.

And here are a few more videos of excited Canadians. It’s safe to assume these were the reactions from all our neighbors to the north.

Perhaps it’s painful for we Americans to watch, but there is a chance for redemption late Friday morning when the two countries’ men’s teams meet in the Olympic semifinals.
