Man Critically Wounded In Greater Grand Crossing Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A man was shot several times early Thursday as he sat in his vehicle in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood on the South Side.

The 23-year-old man was sitting in his SUV about 3:25 a.m. in the 6900 block South Eberhart Avenue when someone walked up and opened fire, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

The man suffered gunshot wounds to the chest and arm and was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he is listed in critical condition, Alfaro said.

No one is in custody as Area South detectives investigate.
