Curie Forfeits All Wins And CPS Basketball Title
(STMW) -- A Chicago Public Schools investigation into Curie Metropolitan High School has revealed that seven basketball players were ineligible since the beginning of the basketball season, the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting.
The players were not named. According to a release sent out by the CPS, Curie will forfeit all 24 wins including the city championship.
The CPS will not name a city champion this season. CPS says Curie is eligible to compete in the state tournament, which begins Monday, since the state and the CPS have different eligibility requirements.
