Burr Ridge Mansion Sustains $1.7M In Fire Damage
(STMW) -- A fire at a large home in Burr Ridge home caused more than $1.7 million in damage Monday afternoon.
The Tri-State Fire Protection District was called to the home in the 9400 block of Falling Waters Drive at 12:32 p.m. and found a single-family home with heavy smoke and fire coming through the roof, the district said in a release.
Crews made sure no one was inside, then moved into defensive mode outside because of a roof and structural collapse, the release said.
The blaze caused more than $1.7 million in damage, the release said.
The structure alone -- a 6-bedroom, 6,000-sq. ft. home -- is currently on the market, listed at $1,199,900, according to real estate website Redfin.
One firefighter suffered a sprain, but no one else was hurt, the release said. The fire was not suspicious, and the cause remains under investigation.
