(CBS) One day before the trade deadline, the Blackhawks acquired defensemen David Rundblad and Mathieu Brisebois from the Coyotes in exchange for a second-round selection in the 2014 draft, the team announced Tuesday.

Rundblad will join the Blackhawks, while Brisebois will report to AHL Rockford.

The 23-year-old Rundblad has appeared in 12 games with Phoenix this season, recording one assists. He’s posted nine points in 50 career NHL games with Ottawa and Phoenix. He was the 17th overall pick in the 2009 draft by St. Louis.

Brisebois, 21, has recorded six points in 28 games this year with the AHL Portland Pirates.
