(CBS) The Bears have released punter Adam Podlesh, they announced Wednesday.
The move isn’t surprising. The Bears will save $1.425 million in 2014 by releasing him, according to the Chicago Tribune’s Rich Campbell, and Podlesh had a poor 2013 season, averaging a league-worst 40.6 yards per punt.
Podlesh accepted the news like a professional, taking to Twitter early Wednesday afternoon.
A sincere thank you to the Bears organization and fans for the opportunity to represent a first class franchise and city..one last #BearDown—
