CHICAGO (CBS) — A Lakeview business group is offering free tattoos to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Wrigley Field.
Jeff Briggs, who handles business relations for the Central Lakeview Merchant’s Association, says they’re giving away 12 free tattoos and 12 free tattoo removals.
On with Wrigley field and off with anything related to the White Sox.
“20 years ago a tattoo, this was like a bad boy, bad girl thing,” Briggs said. “They’re so mainstream today, especially when it comes to sports people want to acknowledge their team.”
Chicago Tattooing & Piercing Company will ink a 3-inch-in-diameter Wrigley Field Tattoo and Tattoo Removal Centers of America will remove anything White Sox-related.
“We’ve got out fingers crossed. Hopefully we can get one more guy to come over to the Cubs’ side.”
They have a half-dozen takers so far for the Wrigley tattoos.
Nobody has signed up to have their White Sox tattoos removed.
