Ex-Teacher Accused Of Sex With Student May Leave State For New Job

JOLIET, Ill. (STMW) -- A former Tinley Park High School teacher and head wrestling coach who has been accused of having sex with a female student may leave the state if his new job requires, a Will County Circuit Court judge ruled Tuesday.

Ryan Dolan, 29, of Tinley Park had resigned from his positions at the school on March 11. He was a faculty member since 2008 and taught history and was the varsity wresting coach, the freshman football coach and a former sophomore softball coach.

Dolan was arrested on March 8 and had been suspended without pay.

He has since been charged with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse from a position of trust and two counts of criminal sexual assault of a victim under the age of 18.

His attorney, Earl Grinbarg, argued in court Tuesday that Dolan should be allowed to travel to Wisconsin or Indiana if his new construction job requires.

Grinbarg also filed a motion for Dolan to retrieve his 2011 Mitsubishi Endeavor which Tinley Park police impounded when they arrested him.

Dolan's next court hearing is April 24.

Will County Assistant State's Attorney Jeffrey Tuminello said he didn't know whether Dolan's vehicle contains evidence that could be used in the case, but that would be determined for the April 24 hearing.
