CHICAGO (STMW) – A man was shot in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side Thursday night.

The man, 20, was shot in the groin about 9:45 p.m. in the 8800 block of South Prairie Avenue, police News Affairs Officer Ronald Gaines said, citing preliminary information.

The man was listed in serious condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Gaines said.

Area South detectives are investigating.
