BLUE ISLAND, Ill. (STMW) — Two people were injured in a single-car crash in south suburban Blue Island early Friday.

About midnight, a car crashed into a pole near the intersection of Vermont and Wood streets, police said.

The two — whose ages and genders were not immediately known — were both taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn with “non-life-threatening injuries,” police said.

Police were still investigating the scene of the crash as of 3 a.m.

It was not immediately known if drugs or alcohol factored in the crash.
