Former Bear Zack Bowman Signs With Giants

(CBS) Free agent defensive back and former Bear Zack Bowman has signed a one-year deal with the Giants, according to ESPN’s Adam Caplan and other reports.

For several weeks, Bowman had been rumored to favor the Giants, so the signing comes as no surprise, and the Bears never appeared to make a serious push to re-sign him.

Chicago has already added two new defensive backs in free agency in safeties Ryan Mundy and M.D. Jennings, as well as re-signing cornerback Charles Tillman. With Bowman’s exit, the Bears are still in search of cornerback depth and a nickel back.

The 29-year-old Bowman has played all six of his pro seasons in Chicago. He had 45 tackles and three interceptions last season.
