2 Kids, Woman Wounded In South Shore Shooting
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A woman and her two young grandsons were shot Tuesday night in the South Shore neighborhood, police said.
Chicago Police patrolling a block away heard the shooting about 8 p.m. and found the scene at 78th and Kingston, police said.
A 5-year-old boy was shot in the stomach and taken by paramedics to University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital in "guarded" condition, Fire Media Affairs spokesman Larry Langford said.
An evidence technician carried the 3-year-boy, who was shot in the shoulder, to an unmarked police car and took him to La Rabida Children's Hospital. The boy was transferred to Comer in good condition, Langford said.
Their 50-year-old grandmother was shot in the upper leg and was in critical condition Wednesday morning at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.
