World's Fastest Lawnmower Reaches Average Speed Of 116 MPH

By John Dodge

(CBS) -- The snow is gone, and soon thousands of Chicago homeowners will be swapping their snowblowers for their lawnmowers.

Imagine cutting your estate grounds with this: The Honda Mean Mower.

This riding mower set a land-speed record with an average of 116.575 miles per hour on a test track in Spain. It can go from zero to 60 in about four seconds, according to a report in Jalopnik.

The record as been certified by officials from the Guinness Book of World Records.

Oh, and it can still cut grass. Covering the ground at 15 miles per hour.

The YouTube video is a hoot to watch.

The best part is at the end of the clip when this beast rips over some sod at a blistering pace.

Just think about being able to tend to your lawn in no time at all, and spending more of your afternoon working on your tan by the pool.

Ahh, summer.
