(CBS) The Bulls have waived rookie forward Erik Murphy, the team announced Thursday.
Murphy had appeared in 24 games for Chicago, averaging just 0.3 points in 2.6 minutes per game. He was selected in the second round of last year’s draft.
The move opens a window for Chicago to pursue more veteran help prior to the playoffs, as the Bulls have talked about re-signing Mike James or Ronnie Brewer, the Chicago Tribune’s K.C. Johnson reported.
The Bulls now have 12 players on their roster.
