1 Dead, 5 Wounded In West Garfield Park Neighborhood Shooting

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Chicago Police say they're looking for two shooters who opened fire at a house party overnight. Police say six people were shot and one of those victims is now dead.

Police say a number of people were here at a 2-flat in the West Garfield Park neighborhood for a house party. Most were hanging outside on the back porch when someone came up from the alley and starting firing bullets toward the crowd.

When party-goers ran inside to take cover, they were met by a second shooter who entered from the front of the building, and began spraying bullets into the crowd.

A total of 6 people were hit, including a 24 year-old man who is now dead, after being shot in the head. The most serious of those injured is a 23 year-old man who is in critical condition at Mount Sinai. He was shot twice. Two woman are also among those injured.

Area north detectives are handling this case, and so far, neither shooter is in custody.
