Jose Abreu Literally Tore The Cover Off A Foul Ball

(CBS) It’s taken a couple days for this to come to everyone’s attention, but White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu hit a foul ball so hard during the first inning of Tuesday’s game against the Rockies that it literally tore the cover off the ball, according to USA Today.

The ball ripped along one of the seams. Check out the photo by clicking here.

The 6-foot-3, 255-pound Abreu hit his first two MLB home runs in Tuesday’s win. For the season, he’s batting .278 with two homers, 11 RBIs and a .955 OPS in nine games.
