CHICAGO (STMW) — A woman was sexually assaulted Tuesday night on the Northwest Side.

About 9:30 p.m., the 18-year-old was walking past the north alley in the 4600 block of West Montana Street when a male grabbed her from behind and covered her mouth with his hand, according to a statement from Chicago Police. He then sexually assaulted her and fled east through the alley.

The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic male, standing 5-foot-6 and weighing 150 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a black athletic jersey with red sleeves, jeans and gym shoes, the statement said.

Anyone with information about the assault is asked to call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8623.
