Javy Baez Placed On 7-Day DL At Triple-A Iowa

(CBS) Shortstop Javy Baez, the Cubs' top organizational prospect, has been placed on the seven-day disabled list at Triple-A Iowa with a sprained left ankle. The move is retroactive to April 11.

Baez suffered the injury while taking ground balls during batting practice prior to Friday's game against Memphis, the Des Moines Register reported.

The injury is the latest in what's been an eventful start to the young season for Baez, who has already been ejected once and gotten into a dugout argument with catcher Eli Whiteside.

Baez is hitting .154 (4-of-26) with two homers and three RBIs in eight games this season.
