Eldery Man Dies After Being Struck By Truck

CHICAGO (STMW) --A truck struck and killed a pedestrian Saturday morning in the Logan Square neighborhood.

The incident happened at 6:42 a.m. in the 1500 block of West North Avenue, near Interstate 94, police said.

The man was "in his 70s" and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. His name was not immediately known.

Both northbound and southbound lanes on I-94 were closed as a result, but later reopened about 10 a.m., Illinois State Police said.
