Worker Critically Injured At Near North Side Filtration Plant

CHICAGO (STMW) -- A worker was injured at the city water filtration plant Tuesday afternoon on the Near North Side.

The private contractor was hurt while working at the Jardine Walter Filtration Plant in the 1000 block of East Ohio Street about 12:30 p.m., according to police and Fire Media Affairs.

The worker, thought to be in his 20s or 30s, was taken in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Fire Media Director Larry Langford said.

Langford said the man works for a roofing company. Further details were not immediately available.
