(CBS) White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu has been named the American League Player of the Week for his performance last week, it was announced Monday. He shares the award with Seattle third baseman Kyle Seager.

Abreu batted .310 with five homers and an AL-best 14 RBIs from April 21-27. He’s the first White Sox player to win the award since Alejandro De Aza captured the honor in July 2013.

Abreu’s 10 homers and 31 RBIs this season are tops in the majors.
