CHICAGO (STMW) --Four people were shot in the Back of the Yards neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.

Three men and one woman were standing outside in the 5400 block of South Winchester Avenue at 4:36 p.m. when someone walked up and started shooting, police News Affairs Officer Stacey Cooper said.

A 41-year-old man was shot in both legs and was taken in good condition to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, Cooper said. A 33-year-old man was also in good condition at Stroger with gunshot wounds to his right calf, right thigh and left hand, Cooper said.

A third man, 50, was shot in the buttocks and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in "stable" condition, Cooper said. The fourth victim, a 47-year-old woman, was also taken to Mount Sinai with a gunshot wound to the lower left thigh, Cooper said. She is in good condition.

A fire official initially said two of the victims were in serious-to-critical condition, and the other two were listed in fair-to-serious condition.
