Freed Former Day Care Worker Says Time In Prison Tough On Family

(CBS) -- A former day care center worker says ten year behind bars has been tough, especially on her kids, reports WBBM's John Cody.

43-year-old Hickory Hills mother of two Jennifer Del Prete isn't entirely off the hook for a shaken baby murder conviction, but a federal judge has said there's substantial evidence of her innocence.

Del Prete said it was especially tough on her daughter who was eight when she was imprisoned and is now 17.

"It was very hard. It has been very difficult, not just for me but for everybody involved," said Del Prete.

Del Prete appeared in Federal Court today a week after her release as her attorney tries to block efforts requiring her to register as a sex offender.

She is still under court supervision and her contact with children is limited.
