Chicago Calendar: Summer Plans Made Easy!

By John Dodge

CHICAGO  (CBS)  -- If you have a hard time remembering the dates for Taste of Chicago or which days a certain museum has free admission, a very nice person has made it easy for you.

Presenting ... the Chicago Calendar on Google Calendars!

It would be impossible to include every event happening in the city over the summer, but this listing does a great job including the big events, free museum days, outdoor festivals, film series, and some of the offbeat happenings.

It has plenty of stuff for families, date nights, singles, groups of friends or all of the above.

Adam Bahe first created the summer calendar four years ago for his girlfriend. The following year, he made the calendar public.

Bahe says he finds some of his free time between February and May to curate the events. He estimated he spends about 60 to 80 hours to complete it.

"So the first year I did this, it was actually a physical copy," he said in an email. "When my friends got word of what I had done, they all had me share the Google Calendar with them. The next year I made the calendar public, and it has grown every year since."

If you have a G-Mail account, you can sync the calendar to your Google calendar on your desktop and mobile device.

Simply click on this link, and then navigate to the Google Calendar button at the lower right of the screen.

Then, click on the settings icon (the gear at the upper right) and select "sync with mobile device."
