Waukegan Bank Robbed

(STMW) -- Authorities are searching for a man who robbed a bank in north suburban Waukegan Monday afternoon.

About 12:40 p.m., police received a notification of a panic alarm going off at NorStates Bank, 1601 N. Lewis Ave. in Waukegan, a statement from police said.

While police responded, officials received a 911 call from an employee saying the bank had been robbed, police said.

The robber displayed a note and got away with an unspecified amount of cash, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Waukegan police at (847) 360-9001. Police and the FBI are investigating.
