(CBS) Nothing is official from the NHL, but by all indications, it appears the Blackhawks will open the Western Conference Finals on Sunday.

NHL commissioners Gary Bettman told WFAN that Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Rangers and the winner of tonight’s Bruins-Canadiens Game 7 will be played Saturday. In NBCsports.com’s TV schedule, it then lists a “TBA” conference finals series beginning Sunday with a 2 p.m. CT start time.

Teams traditionally don’t play on back-to-back days in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Blackhawks await the winner of the Ducks-Kings series. Anaheim leads the series 3-2, with Game 6 set for tonight in Los Angeles.

The Ducks would have home-ice advantage against the Blackhawks, who would hold the home-ice advantage against he Kings.
