(CBS) White Sox ace Chris Sale will return from the disabled list and start Thursday against the Yankees, the team announced Wednesday.

Sale has been out with a strained flexor muscle in his left elbow since a 127-pitch outing against the Red Sox on April 17. Sale had a 68-pitch outing for Triple-A Charlotte on Friday in a rehab start, and other than general body soreness, he and the White Sox said everything went well.

Sale, who has dealt with a few arm issues over the past two seasons, had never been on the disabled list until this season. He’s 3-0 with a 2.30 ERA and 0.84 WHIP this season.
