CHICAGO (STMW) — A woman was charged with murder for allegedly stabbing the father of her child to death Thursday night in the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side.

Tinesha Brooks, 26, was charged with one count of first-degree murder in the stabbing death of 26-year-old Maurice Paschal, authorities said.

About 11:40 p.m. Thursday, Paschal was stabbed multiple times near the intersection of East 39th Street and South Indiana Avenue, police said.

Paschal, of the 4000 block of South Michigan Avenue, was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital less than an hour later, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

Brooks, of the 3900 block of South Indiana, is scheduled to appear in bond court Saturday.
