(CBS) The Bears claimed offensive tackle Michael Ola off waivers on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old Ola played under Bears coach Marc Trestman for the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL for two seasons. He’s a small-college product, having played collegiately at Hampton. Ola had signed with the Dolphins in January before they waived him earlier this week.
To make room for Ola on the 90-man roster, the Bears terminated the contract of defensive back Derrick Martin (non-football injury). Martin was not present at voluntary OTAs this week.
