Two Firefighters Suffer Minor Injuries After SW Side Blaze
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Two Chicago firefighters are recovering tonight after battling a massive blaze on the city's Southwest Side.
The fire broke out in the 6200 block of South Keeler in the West Lawn neighborhood around 9:30 Sunday morning. A pile of rubble and ash is what remains where the fire started.
Fire officials say the blaze sparked inside a neighbor's shed, burned down the fence and then rapidly spread to this house. Two firefighters were taken to Holy Cross with minor injuries.
The homeowner says a majority of his house is destroyed, but he is happy firefighters were able to rescue their pet dog.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
