(CBS) The Illinois men’s basketball team has another marquee game on its schedule this coming season.

Illinois will face Villanova in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden on Dec. 9, filling in for a Maryland squad that had a scheduling conflict.

The Illini and Wildcats haven’t played since the 1988 NCAA Tournament, when Villanova was victorious. Illinois has played in the Jimmy V Classic once, falling to Providence in 2003.

The Illinois-Villanova contest precedes a nightcap that features Louisville and Indiana.
