More than $20 million worth of luxury and exotic cars are making their way to Chicago, where Bugattis, Lamborghinis, Ferraris and dozens of other cars will kick off the second leg of Goldrush Rally.

Nearly 100 cars will arrive on Wed., June 4, at the Swissotel in Chicago, the staging area for the rally's halfway point. Many of the cars will be on display in front of the hotel as early as Wednesday morning.

In its sixth year, Goldrush Rally - a weeklong luxury lifestyle event that crosses the country - has garnered a large following among automotive fans. Thanks to social media, the event has attracted rally participants from across the globe.

"This just keeps building and it's an experience like no other," said Ramin Arami, founder and managing partner of Goldrush Rally. "We never thought about it like a business when it started. It just started as some friends and three cities."

This year's route includes stops in Las Vegas, Park City, UT, Denver, Chicago, Cleveland, and Washington, D.C., with New York City playing host to the finale for the first time in the rally's history.

The common bond is always a passion for cars - from American muscle cars like Corvettes, to the rarified air of Bugattis, which can sell for upwards of $2 million. The rally participants also enjoy head-to-head drag racing at various tracks along the route.

More than 85 cars have signed on for the rally, including teams from the United States, Europe, South America, Australia and the Middle East. Entrance in the weeklong rally runs each team about $14,000 and includes overnight stays at high-end hotels across the country.

The public is encouraged to come throughout the day Wednesday to see the cars staged at the Swisshotel, as well as to see the rally teams departing the hotel at 8:00 am Thursday, as they make their way to No Limit Raceway in Morocco, IN.

The public is encouraged to attend the rally drag races, free of charge. No Limit Raceway will host Goldrush Rally cars from 9 am to 1 pm on Thurs., June 5, at 2695 West 50 South, Morocco, IN.

Swissotel is located at 323 East Upper Wacker Drive in Chicago.
