(CBS) Jimmy Graham is discovering the hard way the double-edged sword that is social media — and he didn’t even tweet anything inappropriate or dumb.
Now in arbitration after being designated as the Saints’ franchise player for 2014, Graham is in a dispute with the NFL over what position he plays. While he’s traditionally referred to as a tight end, Graham is contending he should be designated as a wide receiver, which would pay him $12.3 million as a franchise player as opposed to the $7 million that tight ends receive.
One of Graham’s best arguments? He lined up at receiver on 67 percent of snaps last season.
One of the NFL’s best arguments? Graham lists himself as a tight end in his Twitter bio.
Among @NFL’s arguments: Jimmy Graham meets in the TE room, lines up where TEs line up… and lists himself as a TE on Twitter (really).—

We’ll have to see how it all plays out, but Graham still lists himself as a tight end on Twitter as of Wednesday mid-day.
