Man Fatally Shot In Morgan Park

CHICAGO (CBS/STMW) -- A man was killed in a shooting Saturday afternoon after the Morgan Park neighborhood on the South Side.

Taurus Williams, 23, was near the intersection of 111th Street and South Homewood Avenue at 4:44 p.m. when he was shot in the chest, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

Two groups of people were at the location when shots were heard, police said. People ran in different directions and the man was left on the ground.

Williams, of the 300 block of West 100th Street, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 5:37 p.m., authorities said.

An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.
