NEW YORK (AP/CBS) —Chicago high-school basketball phenom Jabari Parker has been drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks – as the NBA’s No. 2 pick overall.

The Duke forward said he’s excited to play for Milwaukee because it puts him near his family in Chicago.

“I’m just very optimistic,” Parker said. “If it was 1, 2, put me at 60, just getting that opportunity, getting that chanuce of being in the NBA.”

Parker is known as the pride and joy of Simeon High School, winning four state titles and twice being named Mr. Illinois Basketball.
