Blackhawks Sign Morin To 2-Year Deal

(CBS) The Blackhawks have signed forward Jeremy Morin to a two-year contract, they announced Friday afternoon, just days before he was set to become a restricted free agent. The deal is worth an average of $800,000 per year, ESPN's Pierre LeBrun reported, and it will keep him in Chicago through summer 2016.

The 23-year-old Morin recorded 11 points -- five goals and six assists -- in 24 games last season. He also appeared in two playoff games. He spent much of the year at AHL Rockford, where he recorded 47 points in 47 games.
