Man Charged With Killing Wife, Dumping Body On Metra Tracks In Geneva
GENEVA, Ill. (CBS) -- A north suburban man has been charged with killing his wife, then placing her body on a set of Metra tracks near their house in Geneva.
Kane County prosecutors said 47-year-old Shadwick King has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the death of his wife, 32-year-old Kathleen King.
Prosecutors said, early Saturday morning, Shadwick King asphyxiated his wife at their home in the 800 block of Oak Street in Geneva.
Around 6:30 a.m. Saturday, a Metra train conductor spotted Kathleen King's body on the Union Pacific West Line tracks near Espring Park in Geneva, about a half mile from the Kings' home, according to prosecutors.
Authorities did not say exactly how Shadwick King allegedly asphyxiated Kathleen King, or why.
His bail was set at $1.5 million on Friday during a bond hearing at the Kane County Courthouse. He's due back in court on July 23.
