Man Charged In Lincoln Park Beating Death Held Without Bond

(CBS) -- The suspect in the murder of a 32-year-old Lincoln Park man who was beaten to death on the street in April was in court today, where he was ordered held without bail in the murder of Jacob Klepacz.

Family members were in tears as they watched 21-year-old Marco Alvarado stand before a judge.

Klepacz's friend, Willie Newcomb said after the brief hearing, "a huge, good part of the world is gone."

His father, Chester Klepacz said everybody is still in shock.
"We are satisfied that there is no bond and he is not able to get out there and hurt anybody anymore," he said.

Prosecutors said Klepacz and another man were walking on the 1500 block of West Fullerton on April 28 when they were attacked by Marco Alvarado and another man intent on robbing them. Klepacz's friend was injured
