(CBS) — Chicago chef extraordinaire Rick Bayless is serving up a couple of full-ride scholarships to some well-deserving students.
Two CPS students were celebrating a dream come true after each receiving a full-ride to attend Kendall College’s School of Culinary Arts.
The scholarships are part of the Frontera Scholarship program for Mexican-American students in Chicago Public Schools. Bayless launched the program six years ago and this is the first year that two winners were selected.
“One day waking up and knowing that you have it all, that it is covered for, is just the best feeling in the world,” said Paola Salgavo, one of the recipients.
The winning students get to do an internship with celebrity chef Rick Bayless and they get a chance to join the Frontera team on their annual trip to Mexico.
